Register Now for ILOC 2023 Jan. 26 on “Productive Partnerships”

Registration is now open for the 2023 Iowa Libraries Online Conference (ILOC) on Thursday, Jan. 26. Currently in its 16th year, ILOC is a free online conference for the Iowa library community, featuring keynote speakers and breakout sessions throughout the day, including a special event in the evening for library trustees.
About the Theme: Productive Partnerships
The 2023 theme is Productive Partnerships: Community Betterment Beyond Statistics. While we focused on saying “yes” to opportunities last year, we realize that libraries cannot do all things. Being purposeful in determining what ideas to pursue, and with whom to undertake those pursuits, will make partnerships more productive in the long run.
The conference will run from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with breaks for lunch and dinner. Attendees can come for one session or all and can earn up to 7 hours of CE credit for attending all of the ILOC sessions. Library directors are encouraged to use the evening keynote towards fulfilling the board training requirement in the Iowa Public Library Standards.
Two breakout options in four sessions over the course of the day will showcase the creativity and expertise of Iowa librarians. Three keynote addresses from leading professionals will inspire and motivate attendees. Keynotes include:
- Morning: Library as Movement with Dr. R. David Lankes of the University of Texas at Austin
- Lunch: Partnering with ISU’s 99-County Campus: Educating Iowans and Changing Lives with John D. Lawrence and Constance C. Beecher of Iowa State University Extension
- Evening: Not from Around Here: Partnerships with and for New People in Your Community with Dr. David J. Peters of Iowa State University
Conference sessions will be recorded (unless otherwise noted on the schedule), and links to watch the recordings will be available once the conference concludes.
