Public Library Compensation Toolkit
The Public Library Compensation Toolkit was developed to help address inequities in library director and staff compensation when compared to other local government employees who do comparable work. The Toolkit provides library boards, directors, and staff the tools needed to address these inequities and request fair and competitive compensation.
The main Toolkit document contains an overview on how to request fair compensation and communicate the results of the Job Analysis Questionnaire and Job Description, including resources for compensation information.
In addition to the main document, supporting documents include:
- A Job Analysis Questionnaire designed to understand the value a position provides to the local government and establish a basis for determining the fair market value of a position.
- An example and template to create or update an effective Job Description.
