Emily Bainter has been the Communications Specialist for the State Library since 2015. She is based out of the Des Moines office in the Ola Babcock Miller Building.

From graphic design to writing copy to website updates and more, she is the one-stop-shop for all the communications needs of the agency. This has given her well-rounded communications expertise and efficient ways to maximize time and effort for successful projects. She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Art/Graphic Design and previously worked at the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two sons, and dog (especially camping); escaping her husband, two sons, and dog in a good book; and watching Korean dramas.
